Mielmonte Nikko Hotel, Japan

Designed by Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown this hotel is just gorgeous. I love the graphic elements that run throughout this $90 million dollar complex.

Lamp.

This is my updated "x box" tag I created for my lamp that I made and sold last spring. The lamp looks exactly like the logo and it looks great with different color bulbs. I have a few left, so if you're interested let me know. I am also taking some updated pictures of it for my portfolio so I'll post them real soon.

Island Wood, Washington.

Ok, so this is a camp in Washington that just seems awesome. The architecture is sweet and it is all about educating kids/adults on the environment. Check them out at: http://www.islandwood.org/default.php

They even offer internships to college kids, where they come up with a project for you that meets your field of study.

Studios of the future.

This is how it should be, open space(s) designed like that of designers like Thomas Phifer and Partners. Can you imagine working in such a open space? But it's perfect! So what is Tom trying to get across? I interpret it as him saying that people have become so accustomed to working independently (in their little cubicles) that it has become a design issue. Thus, it is not the people that should change but rather the design of the space. Nice!!

Casulo

Check out this "room in a box", it is amazing that some people can think up neat ways to efficiently use space.

OK Nike too.

The eco-conscious, Nike Long ball shoe (is that a reference to baseball?...) You gotta go green!

Yea Reebok

Reebok is getting a lot better with allowing designers creative ideas into the market. When I worked their this summer Michael Schaeffer (design head) told me that for the past 6 months or so Reebok has been allowing a few "wild card" submissions for each season. Which means designers can come up with some fun, cool shoes (like these) and possibly have them on the market; if their concept is choosen.

These Kool Aid shoes will be out in a few months and they just look fun. The line also includes hats, hoodies and t-shirts with your favorite big man logo. To add even more sweetness each shoe is lined with a different scent. Keep up the creative work guys!!

Great Video.

What a cool lamp by Yuko Taguchi, powered by the crank. (treehugger.com)

Check out a similar concept on psfk.com, it's a Core77 Green Design Competition (video). When you get to the site just scroll down a few and it should be right there.

Tree Homes.

Terreform, a philanthrophic architecture company, has come up with this idea of using trees as the support for homes. Architects like Mitchell Joachim as well as other designers at Terreform are coming up with really cool concepts utilizing the benefits of the natural ways of nature. Check out this video:

Awesome

Beijing 2008: Water Cube

Found this on treehugger.com. Check it out it seems like an awesome sustainable structure that should be up for the 2008 Olympics.

Finally.

A woman by the name of Anna Bullus created these "gum balls" for people to dispose their gum in. The balls are made of gum and bio resins, so all your gum is going back into making more disposers as well as some memory foams. A second life for gum, NICE!!!
