Nike football uniforms

I believe (though Im not a huge fan of the brand) Nike will
take the style of sports uniforms to a whole new
"artistic" level, and although they might not have tons
of fans for these "futuristic" style jerseys, it's just
really cool to me! Recently Nike [or someone released]
sketches for future jerseys for the NFL, whether they
are real or not I am excited to see what they do. Reebok
was recently out bid for the rights to the NFL by Nike,
thus Nike will be the official carrier of the league.

Nike of coarse has done the most interesting designs
for its home grown team, the Oregon Ducks, touting
the razor like wings on the shoulder blades of their
football jerseys. Whether, I repesct the brand or not,
I give Nike credit for really bringing an artistic feel
to their gear, and I am excited to see more!

MacKenzie-Childs revisit

Back in high school we got a chance to visit Mackenzie-Childs
in Aurora, NY. The company does a lot of handmade home
products that boast brilliant shapes, colors and designs. Above
is one of my favorites, the vase is very friendly and something
I would like someday! If you are ever in the area you have
to check out MacKenzie-Childs, its a very neat place with
a unique atmosphere!

Finish Line Custom Kiosks

FinishLine and Nike are now introducing custom shirt
kiosks, where you can design your own shirt (from
a selective database renewed every 30 days). Shirts
cost around 30$. Look for one in your local FinishLine
soon, this is something Kicks looks to do in the future!

Paul Jr. Designs

So I really enjoy watching the American Chopper show on TLC.
Paul Jr. has started his own company and has kind of made his
motorcycle brand a clothing line, I find it really cool since I enjoy branding
and logos. You can see more at: http://www.pauljrdesigns.com/

Energizer: Cell charging pad

Cool gadget being released by Energizer! A cell phone
charging pad. I believe you can use it for all phones,
or maybe its just smart phones, but either way its
a cool concept especially if you lost your cord or
needed to charge a few phones at once.

Company: Dry Planet

Dry Planet is another company playing with design
and saving the environment. One product launched
by Dry Palnet and designer Paul Priestman is the
WaterPebble. The WaterPebble is placed by your shower
drain. The product lets out a series of lights (as a timer),
to let you know when to stop your shower, so you
aren't wasting water. Cool idea!

Ecovative Design.

As designers we are always looking for inspiration.
I think one of my favorite resources of inspiration
is magazines. I recently was at Toyota getting my
car checked and I found this Eco magazine Scion
had published. I sat down and browsed the magazine.
To my surprise I found some cool articles.

This one on a new company called Ecovative Design.
Their big product is bioinsulator/packaging. I am
always being pulled in by natural design becuase it
is a definite must in

So some cool stuff happening at Evovative, and it's
from an RPI grad, so not to far from Syracuse!

Jay Shay Gallery, Boston.

A friend of a friend told me about this
girl. She opened her own art
gallery in Georgetown, MA. If you're
in the area check her out, great illustrations
and other great work done by local
artists.

Finally getting back!

Hey all,

Haven't looked into too much
inspiration lately, with all my
work, just haven't put any time
into it. But I am back and plan
on looking around again. I have
to get to the library, the true
place to my inspirations.

Keep going for your dreams.

graduate Miranda Combs
(3rd and 4th photos are work done
by Miranda)...so follow
Jennifer and look to see more

Reno Pottery

Through my research I came upon a
Western New York company called
Reno Pottery. I love their designs,
especially their use of line and color!
I really like the Rooster design over
the other designs, but I can't totally
tell why! Haha!

Response to Futura.

So in a way this this my own Syracuse
hoodie...but it's kinds in response
to the video I saw on the artist
Futura and his "Orange" Nike line.
I created my own rough and tough
Otto, while incorporating the new "oldstyle"
block graphics down the arms and my Hoops
logo on the hood.

Sun Chips

So my mom bought this bag of sun chips
today...okkayy..wow...but the news
I want to share with you is that the
bag is completely compostable...meaning
within the correct measures the bag will
break down into soil in 1-2 months...turning
otherwise waste back into soil...amazing!!!
Look for more companies to follow! I am excited!

Kicks recent inspiration: That's G

Inspired by the reinvention of Gatorade
and Meredith Mandel's typeface: Chunkfive, Kicks
looks to create a similar feel in its clothing line with
the sporty and bold look of Chunk. I
found yet another a similar font in Deeb...Gatorade
is almost like a blend of Chunk and Deeb!

So I came cross this photographer on facebook.
She does local Syracuse photography. I really

Clarks

So in this world I am big into branding...
I don't prefer expensive brands, just brands that
have flavor and provide character...Clarks shoes
in one such brand; I particularly love their signature logo.
I own a few Clarks boat shoes. They so comfortable and reallly
light weight. Plus I enjoy some of their designs...
So look into Clarks.
